Chino, 1963: Elvira Perez rallied church friends to pray for 8-
year-old Michael as he lay in a hospital bed, sick from
uncontrollable vomiting. His mother's strength, voice and integrity
shone ever so bright.
Pomona, present day: Michael and his three sisters will say
goodbye to Perez at the Todd Memorial Chapel.
Perez's strength, voice and integrity still shine bright, they
say.
"She was always giving advice," recalled Jeannie Murillo, one of
Perez's daughters.
