The British man named as the first formal suspect in Madeleine
McCann's disappearance has said he will only survive his ordeal if
police find her abductor.
Former property developer Robert Murat said he had been made a
"scapegoat" as the missing four-year-old's family prepared to step up
their international campaign to find her.
Mr Murat was questioned by Portuguese police on Monday while
forensic experts combed his house, just yards from where Madeleine
was snatched from her bed 13 days ago.
Officers interviewed two other people, said to be Mr Murat's
German girlfriend and her estranged Portuguese husband, as witnesses
at the same time.
