More than 150 pupils tested the new St Mark's playing surface last
week for a Year 2 Sports Festival.
Youngsters from St Saviour's Infants, Batheaston Primary,
Swainswick Primary, Bathford Primary and Bathampton Primary were
divided into teams of eight, each managed by Year 9 sports volunteers
from St Mark's.
They took part in 11 events including stilt walking, golf
pitching, golf putting, hockey dribbling, football shooting,
hurdling, javelin throwing, catching, skipping, striking, and
balancing over an obstacle course.
Brendan Rouse, school sports coordinator, said: "The new AstroTurf
which was officially opened earlier this term had over 180 students
