The last year for the legendary Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray was 1967. By then, it had become the most desirable Corvette model since the 'Vette was introduced in 1953 as a slow six-cylinder production version of an auto show concept car.

In fact, many Corvette fans think the 1963-67 Sting Ray is the most desirable Corvette ever built. It's easily the most collectible.

Fortunately for collectors, the bulky, radically restyled Sting Ray successor had too many bugs to be introduced for 1967. The Sting Ray thus was held over until 1968, which gave it an unexpected extra year of production.
