When Wendy Watson became the first woman in the UK to have a pre-
emptive double mastectomy to avoid breast cancer, she knew life
would change forever. She set up a successful helpline from her
Derbyshire home and now supports thousands of callers every year.
Wendy Roberts reports.
From the outside, St Ann's Cottage looks like a perfect place to
unwind and enjoy a relaxing weekend in the Peak District.
But on the inside, this beautiful Derbyshire house is nothing like
a holiday home.
From a room in her rambling house, 52-year-old Wendy Watson can
answer the phone more than 100 times a week.
And when she is not dealing with callers to The Hereditary Breast
Cancer Helpline, she is working in ...
