Article: Millman intends to enjoy big day at royal Ascot

Sergeant Cecil is widely fancied to raise a few more eyebrows in the Royal Ascot Gold Cup today.

The eight-year-old, trained by Cullompton's Rod Millman, has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past two seasons.

And following victory in the Yorkshire Cup at York last month, Millman says his horse's preparation for today's two-and-a-half mile race has been perfect.

"He has got a very good chance," Millman said.

"On form Sergeant Cecil is the second favourite but there are 13 other horses and they have all been trained for this race.

"Preparations have gone really well. They could not have gone any better."

A late change of jockey means Jimmy Fortune and not Frankie Dettori will ride Sergeant ...
