Article: Eurostar's St pancras move is blow for west business passengers

Business travellers from Exeter are likely to snub the Eurostar when its London terminus moves from Waterloo to St Pancras later this year, despite the train's green credentials and faster journey times to Paris and Brussels via a new high-speed line.

That was the view of Derek Phillips, chairman of Exeter Chamber of Commerce, who was among stakeholders at a presentation by Eurostar at the city's Royal Clarence Hotel yesterday.

The move to the revamped St Pancras station and opening of the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link high-speed line in November will cut journey times from London to Lille, Paris and Brussels by 20 minutes. But instead of being able to connect to the Eurostar via a direct rail
