Article: Development slated for Northbrook site

Vacant land at Willow and Waukegan in Northbrook will become home to a complex of stores, restaurants and offices designed to invoke a small-town atmosphere under a deal announced Wednesday.

The Society of the Divine Word, a Roman Catholic order that owns the former farmland at the northwest corner of the busy intersection, said it will lease the property to developers for 150 years. It signed the agreement with North Shore Village LLC, which includes developers George Olsen and Kent Brisbin.
