Remember when Ioan Gruffudd caused a stir at Gloucester docks in
the spring?
The Phoenix, the tall ship he sailed when he starred as William
Wilberforce in Amazing Grace, is the star of the city's first Tall
Ships Festival.
At lunchtime today, the flotilla, including the Ruth, a 90ft
Baltic trader and Earl of Pembroke, a three-masted, 19th century
wooden barque, sails in. At 8.45pm, you can see the Severn Bore from
Alney Island.
Tomorrow, there's a whole day of entertainment, including live
music, comedy, tug boat trips, guided tours, street theatre, living
history, story-telling and family entertainment.
Highlights are screenings of the Onedin Line at the docks ...
