Article: Docks get shipshape

Remember when Ioan Gruffudd caused a stir at Gloucester docks in the spring?

The Phoenix, the tall ship he sailed when he starred as William Wilberforce in Amazing Grace, is the star of the city's first Tall Ships Festival.

At lunchtime today, the flotilla, including the Ruth, a 90ft Baltic trader and Earl of Pembroke, a three-masted, 19th century wooden barque, sails in. At 8.45pm, you can see the Severn Bore from Alney Island.

Tomorrow, there's a whole day of entertainment, including live music, comedy, tug boat trips, guided tours, street theatre, living history, story-telling and family entertainment.

Highlights are screenings of the Onedin Line at the docks ...
