A Grimsby man assaulted his former partner in front of their two
children, a court heard.
Darren Avison (30), of Columbus Way, admitted assaulting Julie
Sylvester on August 18.
Grimsby Magistrates' Court heard how the couple had been together
for 13 years, but had recently separated.
Prosecuting, Dennis Aisthorpe said: "On the night of the incident,
the defendant had consumed 10 cans of lager before going to a local
public house and drinking another five pints of lager.
"He turned up at his former partner's home shouting abuse and
demanding to be let in.
