Reeling from their NLD cup defeat to Nottingham from the previous
week, Grimsby under 14's RUFC were determined to make a fight of this
fixture and get back to their winning ways.
From the kick-off, the Grimsby forwards showed their dominance in
all areas of play with solid scrummaging from the immovable James
Carroll and Josh Walker in the front row, providing a solid platform
to unleash the back-line.
Unfortunately for Grimsby, Lincoln's defence was rock solid,
thwarting many attempts to breach their line and forcing the Blue's
mercurial backs to spill the ball. Lincoln also made searching runs
into Grimsby's half, but solid defence by Sam Bell and Mike Pyle
ensured that the game remained ...
