Grimsby's Fishing Heritage Centre has officially become a museum
after tourism bosses said it was more than ship-shape.
The dockside venue has reeled in full accreditation as a museum
after a period of assessment.
This new recognition was given after inspectors from the national
Museums Libraries and Archives Council took a tour of the exhibits
and storage facilities.
Coun Steve Hocknell, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and
healthier communities, said everyone involved was delighted.
He said: "We have been working towards achieving full museum
accreditation for a long time and it is a great achievement for us as
a service to secure recognition at this level for the Fishing
