Grimsby Soccer Club were narrowly defeated in a match where they
nearly pinched a point.
Grimsby were decimated through injuries and county call-ups in
this Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League fixture against Botston
Town Reserves.
So dire was the problem that manager Graham Cartwright started the
game.
Grimsby struggled with Boston's long-ball tactics.
Grimsby scored the first goal when great work by winger Stefan
Melin saw him cross the ball into the Boston box.
With Neil Watts about to strike the ball home, he was felled by
the Boston central defender.
Up stepped midfielder Daniel Beecham to power home the spot kick.
