The South Hams is 'borrowing' a chief executive to help run the
rural district for the next nine months - at a cost of pounds4,825 a
month.
And the man who has been given the job is former South Hams
Council top officer David Incoll who left the local authority 10
years ago to become chief executive at West Devon Borough Council.
He is planning to spend half the week at West Devon council HQ at
Tavistock and half the week at South Hams Council's base at Totnes -
running both district councils until the South Hams decides what to
do about replacing its current chief executive Ruth Bagley, who
leaves for Slough at the end of this month.
