The Friends of Shiphay Park held their annual meeting on Monday night. Feelings ran high in an emotionally charged meeting, where many residents spoke out as fears grew that the park would be built over in the forthcoming years unless action was taken.

Having carried out a consultation with 140 residents last summer, the Friends of Shiphay Park are in a position to set out exactly what the community wants.

Two litter bins and a notice board have already been installed in the park with goal posts being replaced in the next two weeks to allow football to be played through the summer.
