High profits for South West Water need to be tapped say two of
South Devon's MPs.
The company says although its board has noted the recent rise in
its share price it is not aware of any particular reason for the big
increase in its profits.
Torbay Lib-Dem MP Adrian Sanders has called for a 'root and branch
reform' of water charging in Britain as South West Water announced
high profits.
South West Water's parent company, Pennon Group, made a profit of
pounds201.8 million, up 14.2 per cent on last year, for which South
West Water's profits accounted pounds156.8 million, an increase of
nearly 11 per cent.
