The Torbay Express was formed of the regular summer nine coach weekday set, plus another four coaches added at Paignton, making the full train up to 13 coaches, which would certainly need banking assistance from Torquay, through Torre station to Shiphay bridge, which was as far as the banker was allowed to go.
