Iraq war veteran Jane Allen is expected to complete her 1,200 mile
hike for charity today when she finally reaches Lands End- raising
more than pounds6,500 for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
Jane, who lives in Landscove, near Ashburton is a commander with
the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) and is based at Plymouth unit HMS
Vivid.
She had just arrived home from a tour of duty in war torn Baghdad
before setting out on her gruelling walk in April - on her 50th
birthday.
For the last 26 years Jane has combined her civilian job with her
part time role in the Navy.
Before being mobilised for Iraq, Jane was working for Her
Majesty's Courts services as an IT project manager as well as being a ...
