A Major city housing development has been put on hold due to
flooding fears.
City Council planners were due to make a decision on the building
of 63 new homes on the Ruston Marconi Sports Club site, off Newark
Road, Lincoln, tonight.
But last month's torrential rain waterlogged the area and flooded
the gardens of adjacent houses.
Many residents complained to the council and told them developing
the site would make the problem worse.
Guy Wilson's house, in St Margaret's Gardens, Lincoln, backs onto
the Ruston Marconi site.
On Friday, as the developers desperately tried to drain the sports
field, a pipe burst and flooded his back garden.
He said he is relieved the decision had been delayed.
