Dusty Baker and the Cubs. I'm getting used to the idea. But I'm
having trouble deciding who got the best of this union. In other
words, who married up?
It's simple to make the call when family or friends get married.
You say, He married up," often in reference to her looks, social
graces or education. Or you say, She married up," usually in
reference to his paycheck. It's more complicated when it comes to
Baker and the Cubs.
Because Baker's former team, the San Francisco Giants, won 95
games last season and the Cubs won 67, Baker gets an edge. Because he
took the Giants to the World Series and the Cubs haven't played in
one since 1945, Baker looks even better. And he also can brag about ...
