Article: Babies monkey around at forest

This little two-week-old monkey is one of five new arrivals at a North Staffordshire tourist attraction.

The tiny Barbary macaques have been born at Trentham Gardens' Monkey Forest, and are stealing the hearts of thousands of children.

And more little monkeys could be on their way as rangers predict more females are to give birth.

More than 400,000 people have visited the forest of 140 monkeys since it opened in July 2005.

Monkey Forest scientific officer Sue Wiper said: "We call our new arrivals 'little Midlanders', and it seems they are settling in well.

"The older ones are around eight weeks old, and becoming more active and starting to try to climb trees.
