The Illinois high school graduation rate is pegged at 77 percent,
putting the state 15th in the nation, according to a new analysis.
New Jersey was the top ranked in the country with 87 percent,
according to the study, which made estimates using federal data from
the year 2000.
Florida came in last with a 55 percent graduation rate, followed
by Georgia, the District of Columbia and Arizona.
Wisconsin ranked 9th (81 percent) and Indiana 23rd (73 percent) in
the analysis, conducted by the Manhattan Institute for Policy
Research.
