Article: Turnovers give Lisbon momentum

LISBON - No sweat off the Lisbon Greyhounds backs.

The Hounds created two swift mouth-watering turnovers in the first quarter in a sweatbox fans call Thompson Field, quenching their thirst with a 28-8 victory over the stubborn Bulldogs in a Class C football game Saturday.

The searing heat and humidity taxed both teams, and there was no question the Greyhounds toiled for every yard they gained even though they made it look easy on that bone-dry field.

The nagging Bulldogs lived up to their name, too, constantly reminding Lisbon of their viable ground game and stingy defense.

"I thought we earned every yard we got," said Lisbon coach Dick
