Article: Dr. Christ remembered as caring man

Dr. Martin H. Christ cared for all of his patients.

And they cared for him, too.

Members of the medical society as well as community members, friends and family are mourning the death of the doctor, who died unexpectedly last week.

"The whole community will miss him," said Bernie Stevenson, of Stevenson Family Pharmacy that is located next door to Dr. Christ's former office. "He was a very pleasant man to know. He was a good friend. We'll really miss him."

Dr. Christ, 77, had practiced medicine in St. Joseph since 1953. He continued to practice medicine, despite his own health problems, making rounds one or two times a week right up until he died, said Dr. Edward Beheler.
