Article: Theodore Postel, 77; lawyer, writer He had front-page column in Chicago Daily Law Bulletin for almost 30 years

For just short of 30 years, readers of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin looked for the familiar face of Theodore Roosevelt Postel on the front page along with his take on recent Appellate Court decisions.

His editors loved his column for another reason: He never missed a deadline, an amazing feat for any journalist.

"He was a gentleman and a very even-tempered, mild-mannered man who never missed his deadline in [about] 4,900 columns," said Bernard Judge, the Law Bulletin's editor and publisher. "He was a fast and clear writer . . . and he maintained a legal practice at the same time."

Mr. Postel, who specialized in personal injury law, died Friday at his Lincoln Park home after a long struggle ...
