JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Twenty-one Northwest Missouri school
districts have received the state's Distinction in Performance award.
Gov. Bob Holden named the 157 Missouri school districts to earn
the state award during a news conference Wednesday.
The awards were given based on criteria established by the State
Board of Education, including Missouri Assessment Program test
scores, ACT test scores, attendance and dropout rates, and other
academic performance measures.
"I am proud to announce that one-third of the state's 524 school
districts have met the standards for this prestigious recognition,"
