Detroit general manager Ken Holland might have one of the most
talented teams in the league, but he looks at the Western Conference
and sees a number of teams that could create problems for the Red
Wings.
The Western Conference is much stronger this year than last year,"
Holland said. San Jose is another year older and hungry. Vancouver
feels good after its second half last season. Chicago is feeling
good. Edmonton's kids are a year older. Colorado is where it is.
Phoenix went out and signed Tony Amonte. Dallas has made some
additions to its team. You can be better than you were last year and
not have the same results."
