Article: Marcolla exits Junior Amateur after 21-over finish

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - Kyle Marcolla knew it would take a great performance to make the cut at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.

But the Chillicothe senior had no idea just what that would entail.

Marcolla - this year's St. Joseph News-Press Boys Golfer of the Year - failed to make it out of stroke play in the U.S. Junior Amateur earlier this week at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Md.

He shot a nine-over-par 79 on the first day of competition and a 12-over 82 on the second. His 21-over total tied him for 129th place out of 156 golfers.
