Army 1st Lt. Philip M. Anders has deployed to Iraq in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom to engage in military operations involving
U.S. and coalition forces. The soldier is regularly assigned to one
of the various camps and units of the 2nd Infantry Division, 8th U.S.
Army, based in South Korea. Soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Division
deployed to Iraq either to augment soldiers serving in country or to
replace soldiers who had completed their tours of duty. Mr. Anders, a
platoon leader, is the son of Steve M. and Darlene Anders, Kansas
City. His wife, Joanna, is the daughter of Joseph A. DeAngelo, and
Karen DeAngelo, both of Richmond, Mo.
