Article: Establishing sleep routines with babies benefits family

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question. At least, that is the question a group of St. Joseph parents hoped to answer during a recent Parents as Teachers "Just for Babies" activity.

Sitting in a circle, 11 parents introduced themselves and their children, with ages ranging from 6 weeks to almost a year. The parents didn't know each other, but they all had one thing in common - a lack of sleep.

For some, nights were the worse, with their children crying at all hours. For others, establishing a naptime routine was their greatest hurdle. Marguerite Klassen had an unique dilemma - how to wake up her 15-week-old son, Adam, every morning.
