Sydney Boy is not forgotten.
Although the beagle had to be euthanized due to severe seizures,
his owners, Mike and Julie Halloran of St. Joseph, continue to
remember their beloved friend.
"I say a prayer to him every night - 'Syd, I haven't forgotten
you,'" Mrs. Halloran says.
Married almost 20 years, the Hallorans had Sydney for about half
that time. Mrs. Halloran, a fourth-grade teacher, is a Snoopy fan and
collects beagles, even decorates her classroom room with them, says
her husband.
"We just carried it into our pets," he adds.
Sydney came first, then Shiloh Boy. No one ever told the couple
that beagles are a breed prone to seizures. Sydney was diagnosed
