Mount Prospect leaders dreamed of a revived downtown, and Norwood
Builders fulfilled their vision with Village Centre, a two-part
development of loft condos, traditional condominiums and businesses
that attract people to the commercial district.
"We wanted to bring back an area that had been somewhat
dilapidated," said William Cooney, Mount Prospect community
development director. "We wanted to create a place where people could
spend an evening."
Norwood Builders' Village Centre--made up of the Lofts and Shops
and the Residences--is the Sun-Times Suburban Development of the Year
for 2002.
The Lofts at Village Centre, at Northwest Highway and Illinois 83,
is a 34-unit block-long building ...
