When it comes to dividing an estate, families can be divided over
the smallest things.
"What surprises most people is that attorneys say that most often
personal property, not the titled property, causes the most problems
when handling an estate," said Dr. Rebecca Travnichek, family
financial education specialist with University of Missouri Extension.
Although families usually plan for dispersing their major
holdings, it can be difficult to determine how to fairly distribute
personal items such as wedding photographs, a treasured baseball
glove or a pie plate.
To help make decisions about how to fairly distribute sentimental
