Wine may have gotten off its high horse in recent years, but even the advent of screw-top bottles doesn't offset the intimidation factor for everyone.

That's because, aside from its chuggable Boones Farm form, wine has a reputation for sophistication due in part to its complicated flavor.

"It's an acquired taste," admits Sherry Jackson. "I didn't like it at first."

But the title specialist who's temporarily residing in St. Joseph became a wine enthusiast for life after she learned to taste for its subtleties in Italy.
