LAWSON, Mo. - Andy Walter had to make the throw. No other options
remained.
As Maryville's senior quarterback rolled to his left, he tried to
loft a pass towards the end zone, but the ball never made it.
Walter's throw on the final play against Lawson with no time
remaining on the clock landed out of bounds and 12 yards short of the
end zone, ending the Spoofhounds comeback attempt in the Class 2,
District 16 opener for both teams. The No. 1-ranked Cardinals held on
for a 28-20 victory Friday night at Lawson High School and took a
huge step toward earning a fifth-straight playoff berth.
