Local officials have talked about fixing it up, selling it off or tearing it down. But Charleston's aging Municipal Auditorium doesn't appear to be going anywhere in the near future.

The 3,000- to 3,500-seat auditorium, now more than 60 years old, recently came to the rescue of Charleston's much-touted Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences, when officials were forced to push back a mid-February opening date for the $100 million facility.
