Article: NASA to boost its Web site so it can stream Mars video

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Two Silicon Valley companies have been working to boost NASA's online capabilities before January, when two unmanned rovers are scheduled to land on the Red Planet.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration wants to be prepared for a global online rush to www.nasa.gov when the agency for the first time attempts to Webcast real-time streaming video from Mars, or any celestial body for that matter.

OK, near-real time. The signal will take at least nine minutes to reach Earth, more than 100 million miles away.
