IF you could cook with only one herb for the rest of your life,
thyme would be a good choice.
You could do breakfast: Thyme flavors our traditional breakfast
sausages, and it pairs wonderfully with eggs.
Main dishes are taken care of since thyme works well with all
meats, fish, poultry, soups, stews, vegetables, cream sauces,
anything cheesy - and it's essential in any dish that requires the
French herb combination bouquet garni.
Even dessert calls for thyme. Honey made by bees that have feasted
on tiny purple thyme flowers is a delicacy, and "lemon thyme" - one
of literally hundreds of thyme varieties - lends its subtle citrus
essence to cookies ...
