Want to stand out after a job interview and keep your name in front of the potential employer? Here's a big tip: Send a follow-up thank-you note.

In today's tight job market, I am often asked how one can set himself apart during a job interview. With all things being equal (education, work experience, proper and professional dress, knowledge of the company, etc.), one of the best pieces of advice that I can offer is to send a follow-up thank-you note to the interviewer.

In fact, a recent article by Olivia Barker in USA Today mentioned a study by CareerBuilder.com that found about 15 percent of managers
