Across the country, states are becoming the incubators of health-
care reform efforts, no longer waiting for the perfect storm in
Washington D.C. to deliver much needed change. States such as
Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine have already adopted comprehensive
reforms and Pennsylvania, Illinois and California are actively
considering their own reform measures.
West Virginia should join this list because the cost of doing
nothing is staggering and is no longer is a viable option. Consider
the following:
