Article: Long live the king , England's Stilton a blue cheese lover's dream

A few years ago, French President Jacques Chirac brought England's collective blood to a boil when he branded British food as the world's second worst. (First worst? Finnish.)

"You can't trust people who cook as badly as that," he wisecracked during a meeting with the leaders of Russia and Germany.

It's become somewhat fashionable to dis British food. In her column a few weeks ago, even Tara made a few cracks about jellied tongue, spotted dick and other British favorites, before extolling the merits of lemon curd, another product of merry old England.

I'm not going to pile on. It would be too easy (baked beans and black pudding for breakfast - c'mon, people!). Instead, let's talk cheese. ...
