North Lincolnshire Council chiefs have said they have 'no
intention' of re-branding the authority after North East Lincolnshire
councillors revealed they were considering changing its name.
Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes Borough Council could be the new
name of North East Lincolnshire Council - at a cost to the taxpayer
of at least pounds100,000.
But council chiefs in Scunthorpe have said they do not feel this
area needs a similar name-changing exercise.
North East Lincolnshire Council leader Coun Andrew De Freitas
said: "We have suffered from an identity crisis since the creation of
the North East Lincolnshire authority, following the break-up of
Humberside.
