Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes Borough Council could be the new name of North East Lincolnshire Council - at a cost to the taxpayer of at least pounds100,000.

But council chiefs in Scunthorpe have said they do not feel this area needs a similar name-changing exercise.

North East Lincolnshire Council leader Coun Andrew De Freitas said: "We have suffered from an identity crisis since the creation of the North East Lincolnshire authority, following the break-up of Humberside.
