Strong support has been lent to the Scunthorpe Telegraph's Save
Our Post Offices campaign.
The petition, launched yesterday, is urging people to sign up and
help try to stop the post office closures threatening the region.
Dozens of readers have added their names to the online petition at
www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk along with many councillors who insist
more options need to be looked at for the vital outlets.
At the time of going to press, 39 people had added their support.
Six post offices are currently being considered for closure:
Burringham Road, Scunthorpe; Newport Street, Barton-Upon-Humber; East
Ashby; Eastoft; West Butterwick; and Wroot.
