They're putting the finishing touches on an exhibit called "Chicago Sports! You Shoulda Been There" that opens at the Chicago Historical Society on Saturday. My guess is it's going to be one of the city's must-see family destinations this summer.

You don't have to be a longtime Chicago resident, or a sports fan, to get caught up in the photos and the artifacts on display--though it certainly doesn't hurt--because there is something here for everyone. Given the accident of timing that has "Chicago Sports!" running concurrently with "Baseball in America" at the Field Museum, I think it's fair to say that Chicago is temporarily the sports museum capital of the country.
