Government first came up with the idea. The road pricing plan proved
massively unpopular with millions of people signing an online
petition against the proposals. Here Post business reporter SHAUN
GREANEY looks at the issues.
How do we tackle long traffic jams? With more and more vehicles
coming onto the road and a further increase in traffic congestion of
25 per cent predicted by 2015 it would appear that something needs to
be done.
According to Government figures there are an extra six million
vehicles on the road now compared to 1997.
