Instead of two nine-hole sections looping back to the clubhouse,
the Cherington takes you way out into the countryside where you can
enjoy large helpings of peace and quiet - and the local flora and
fauna.
Like many golf courses these days they are keen to preserve and
promote the local wildlife, but have gone a step further by making
one of their greenkeepers the course's official environmental co-
ordinator.
As well as deer (and at least the sound of sheep), there are
buzzards circling overhead and, according to Chris, the locals insist
there is a fearsome creature called the Beast of the Cotswolds.
