fragrant blooming flowers mean summer is on its way - bringing misery
to hay fever sufferers. Jacqueline Dolan ditches her antihistamines
for a month to see whether natural treatments will help
With the sniffy season coming early this year, it's all too easy
to reach for the decongestants, the antihistamines and other allergy
medicines which could be bad for our health.
Twice the usual number of people called advice line NHS Direct in
April after record temperatures sparked a hay fever outbreak two
months earlier than normal.
And Boots has reported a 146 per cent increase in hay-fever remedy
sales compared to this time last year.
