Extra work is needed on the presidential flight after a change in
specification - and a bigger order may follow
Helicopter maker AgustaWestland has landed extra work for its West
factory following a rift between American aerospace giant Lockheed
Martin and the US Navy over aircraft for the US presidential flight.
The war of words over changes to some versions of the UK-designed
US101 has forced Lockheed back to drawing board.
That has pushed up costs by a third to pounds1.2 billion on
technical developments for the helicopters - triggering an influx of
work for Agusta- Westland's Yeovil production site.
