Article: Price-fixing shame of EU

The likes of Asda, Morrisons, Safeway and co are accused of getting together to rig the cost of groceries "Supermarkets in pounds270m price fix"(Western Daily Press, September 21), and people go ape.

Yet for years, Brussels has operated the same policy of keeping the price of a range of foodstuffs artificially high (and still is doing), so where are the headlines complaining about that?

The EU, don't forget, is the outfit whose own auditors have refused to sign off the accounts for more than the past decade.
