Sara Lee Corp. has hired a Frito-Lay veteran to knead its bread
business into shape and greatly expand bread delivery to retailers.
William J. Nictakis, 43, is now president of U.S. Fresh Bakery,
the largest business unit of Sara Lee Bakery Group. The bakery group,
including fresh bread, buns and rolls, accounts for $3 billion of
Chicago-based Sara Lee's $18 billion in yearly sales.
Sara Lee announced the appointment Monday and said it was
effective immediately. Nictakis left a 15-year career at Frito-Lay,
where he was most recently vice president of sales, to join Sara Lee.
Nictakis' experience overseeing Frito-Lay's direct-to-store
